If you are a citizen of West Virginia and want to verify the license of a Licensed Professional Counselor, please call the office 800-520-3852 and we will be happy to assist you.

All other individuals or companies:

Please follow the instructions below to verify the license of a Licensed Professional Counselor in West Virginia:

• All requests must be in writing.
• Each request cost $20.00 payable to WVBEC..
• Please mail all requests to WVBEC, Post Office Box 129, Ona, WV 25545.
• Do not fax your request.
• The Board will verify the counselor's name, license number, issue date, expiration date, status of license and status of any complaints filed.
• Every attempt will be made to process all requests submitted properly within three (3) working days unless staff is on vacation or ill.
• WVBEC will return the verification via fax so please include the fax number you would like us to use.

This is currently the only verification method we have in place.
